A Day To Ponder

It had never been easy going through Chinese New Year festival. Of all the 365 days, the most I disliked is Chinese New Year.

Thinking it back, I do not have any CNY cherished moments but all are vague collection of memories. Just like bits and pieces of jigsaw puzzle. What I do like in CYN are the foods; bak gua, pineapple tart, love letters, egg rolls and my mum's speciality the steam chicken. Heavenly delicious. YUMMY!!

I remembered when I was a kid, every CNY (1st day) my family will never failed to bring us to Singapore Tang Dynasty Village (already closed down) or How Par Villa. Back then I always thought it the same old, silly and boring things. But I do not know why as I grown up, it was those moments that I MISSES the most.

And at every CNY (2nd day), my mum would brought us to only ONE relative house to "Bai Nian" (visit). And my dad had never once join us. I NEVER knew why.

For CNY eve, it was an important day for all Chinese community. It is held only ONCE in a year to have reunion dinner.

No matter how FAR you are or how BUSY you are, you gotta to come home for reunion dinner. That is what I always been taught by the elders or in school.

An IDEAL reunion dinner would be having family and relatives sitting around a big round table having a great feast (steamboat, yu sheng and etc), happily chit chat.

But mine was never close to an ideal dinner. Either they will all busy or imagine one eat in the kitchen, one eat in the living room and another eat in the room. I had never fully understand what is the significant of it.

Apart from that I am consider fortunate, I always had 2 reunion dinner. One at my dad side, and at with my mum side. I had to buy grocery separately. Ha ha..

I am deeply sorry to some who had asked me out to "bai nian" and I normally gave it a pass. It just remind me how alone I am.

I do not know why I dislike CNY, maybe one of the reasons are it remind me of loneliness ever since my parents are divorced.

Through my CNY memories are vague but as I look through my cupboard, there are numbers of photos that recapture my hearts. And it just kept me going!! Ha ha..

I had long forgotten about my old house. Seeing this photo really rekindle my heart and memory.

A Day Before CNY Eve

A day before CNY's eve (Sat), James drove his rental car (for the very first time) to pick me up from my house. As expected, I was early!! He had made several "innocent turn" in my neighbourhood car park and FINALLY manage to find his way. Ha ha..

With NIL experience travelling on road except for "to and fro to work".

In my hand holding one of the WORLD BEST inventions ("The Street Directory, Latest 2009 Edition"), together with our guts feelings and my "aga aga" (hokkien) guidance. We reached Northpoint, to pick up our 2 close friends.

With a laugh I told James, "Hey do you know we are one step closer for the Amazing Race Competition."

After picking up BS and JW, I asked them anyone know how to travel to town. Guess What!! Everyone know a bit here and there BUT not too sure or confident.

So I had to replied back on the world best invention thing. Now with the aid of with 2 more passenger, it was much easier. Ha ha..

We successfully reach PS, with a hiccup here and there but after all it was FUN!! Truly brand new experience. And after, we went to The Cathay for dinner followed by catching "The Wedding Game" movie.

While queueing up for dinner, I found this chicken little figurine. How can I simply resist such cutey eyes look. Does it look like me? Ha ha..

Shots taken by James using my handphone when we are unaware off.

After the movie, James dropped us back home. From there, I drove and brought the rest to Kbox and sang till 3am. And went for short supper. By the time I reach home was 6am!! Super tiring but FUN day.

Spring Cleaning

Chinese New Year is just a week away. It's ang bao ang bao (red packet) time!! ha ha.. ( $_$ )

It also a great time to find good excuses to buy new clothing, shoes and etc. Ha ha.. Unfortunately I did not have time for that, I guess had to wait till next coming Saturday to shop.

I had a spring cleaning in my room today, pile up at least 3 garbage bag (not 3 bag of dust. Ha ha..) to be thrown away.

I did change my window curtains, rearrange my furniture, changing bed sheet, mop the floor etc. Now I am proud to say I love my room more than ever. =)

Photos

First blog for Year 2009!! Happy new year to you all. I want to
thank all of you for sending me new year wishes while I was away.

I was surprised when I switched on my phone, it was flooooooded with sms wishes. I really appreciate it.

We went to Suzhou, Nanjing, Wuxi, Hangzhou, Shanghai and etc. I have visited both rural and urban areas and had learnt so much in China. I had gained a total different perceptive towards China, of course in a very positive way.

I am fascinated with its rich culture, beautiful scenery and impressed with it fast growing development. If I had a chance, I wished to work and study.

Hey guess what, I didn't come back empty handed. I had brought back lot of photos just for you guys!! Take your time to enjoy.
